Iran is the world’s leading exporter of saffron, with exports amounting to $104M in 20212. The main destinations for Iranian saffron exports are China, Spain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, with China being the largest importer. The export market for Iranian saffron has seen significant growth, particularly in China, Qatar, and Germany. However, China is using Iran Saffron imported as bulk in huge amounts to repack and rebrand and sell it worldwide.
